DOGS DON'T BELONG ON THE STREETS
We are building a grounded, transparent system that connects every step of a dog's journey — from street life to sanctuary, from rescue to adoption — replacing fragmentation with clarity and momentum.
We turn compassion into structure. By raising standards, strengthening neonatal puppy care, and centralizing rescue efforts, we transform isolated work into coordinated, lasting impact.
Beginning in Kosovo and expanding globally, Klyshi is laying the groundwork for a future where dog welfare is no longer reactive, but intelligently designed.

ABOUT
Our Story
It started with Polly.
Our story begins with one tiny, fierce stray puppy, Polly. Found in the mountains of northern Albania — we took her in, raised her, and she became the light of our lives. Polly is the heart and inspiration behind everything we do.
Because of her, we set out to rescue and rehome stray dogs across Kosovo, one at a time, doing whatever it took to give them a chance at a beautiful life and a warm family.
That journey led us to found Klyshi as a non-profit. As our operations grew, it showed us that real change needed more than compassion — it demanded new ways to connect, organize, and scale impact.
That's why Klyshi is evolving. Today, we're combining the heart of a rescue movement with the power of technology — building digital tools and a platform to bring people and dogs together, both locally and around the world.
The Problem
Centralizing the infrastructure.
Despite all the passion in rescue (and we've seen a lot of it), the system isn't working as well as it could. The dog adoption process is still too inefficient. So many dogs fall through the cracks- not because people don't care, but because the process is fragmented and outdated. Good intentions get buried under funding gaps, complex logistics, and uncertainty about where to turn for reliable help. Without a coordinated pipeline, dogs often get stuck somewhere along their journey from street to home.
01
Disconnected Efforts
Shelters, independent rescuers and organizations often face challenges alone, working in silos.
02
Cross-Border Obstacles
International adoptions are slowed by logistical, legal, and communication barriers.
03
Overcrowded Shelters
Most shelters are stretched to their limits — too many dogs, not enough space or resources.
04
Adopter & Donor Doubt
Adopters struggle to find trustworthy information. Donors lack transparency about where their help goes.
Our Vision
What we're building.
Klyshi NGO is a structured, tech-driven launchpad for real-world impact. Our work on the ground serves as proof of concept for the global platform we're building.
01
Digital Tools
Designed to streamline and centralize every step of the dog adoption journey. By bringing together rescuers, shelters, adopters, donors, volunteers, vets, and transport providers into one seamless ecosystem — making it easier for everyone to find the people, resources, and tools they need.
02
Adoption & Community Events
Every dog deserves a moment to shine. Our adoption events bring the community together — giving dogs the chance to meet their future families face to face, and giving people the chance to fall in love. Beyond adoptions, we create spaces where pets and people celebrate life together — from dog-friendly days at local restaurants and cafés, to playdates, social meetups, and shared experiences that make life with a dog even better.
03
Education Programs for Kids
We want to inspire the next generation to grow up caring deeply about animals. Organized visits with rehomed stray dogs and to the sanctuary will play a key role in building that empathy early.
04
Policy Change
We work with local governments on CNR — Catch, Neuter, Release — programmes, one of the most effective and humane tools for reducing stray populations long-term. Alongside this, we work toward mandatory microchipping so every dog has an owner on record, and stronger protection laws that treat animal abuse as the serious offence it is.
The Sanctuary
A place of nurture and safety.
A dog sanctuary in the Prishtina area, offering immediate safety and care for hundreds of stray dogs. It's the first step off the street and into a better life.
01
Free-Roaming Sanctuary
No bars, no cages — just open space. Dogs are free to roam, explore, and simply be dogs. At night and during cold or harsh weather, warm sheltered spaces are always available. It's the freedom of the outdoors with the safety of a home. And every dog that enters our care is protected by our strict no-kill commitment — no healthy or treatable animal is ever euthanised.
02
Dedicated Neonatal Puppy Care
Puppies are at their most vulnerable during the first four weeks of life. Without proper neonatal support, survival rates can drop below 20% — especially in high-stress environments like the street. These dedicated spaces focus on proper nutrition, warmth, infection prevention, and emergency care.
03
On-Site Veterinary Care
Every dog that arrives receives a full health assessment. Vaccinations, microchipping, spay and neuter procedures, and ongoing treatment are all handled on-site — so no dog waits for the care they need.
04
Rehabilitation & Socialisation
Life on the street leaves marks. Many dogs arrive fearful, withdrawn, or overwhelmed. Through patient, structured work with trained handlers and volunteers, we help each dog rebuild trust — and become truly ready for a family and a home.
